Rarely does an investment broker with a degree in Economics leave it all behind to pursue a passion for art. In 2004 after 12 years in the financial industry and a title of Vice President with Wachovia Securities artist Kevin LePrince decided to devote himself to painting full-time and thus began his journey as an artist. To learn more about LePrince's transition into the art world please follow the link titled “LePrince's Journey” below.
LePrince's talent for painting manifested itself early during childhood. His early works earned awards and accolades that set him apart immediately. Ancestral records reveal the gift may be in his blood as both Auguste-Xavier LePrince (Save1799-1826) and Jean-Baptiste LePrince (1734-1781) became noted painters of their time. Today their works can be found in the collections of the Louvre in Paris and the Getty in California. To learn more these artists and their works please follow the link titled “LePrince's in Art History” below.
"Often playful but sometimes serious" is LePrince’s description of his work and subject matter. His paintings are recognized for their broken brush strokes, limited palette, and playful use of light. Even though LePrince has had no formal training in the arts, he has painted extensively with well known artist John Carroll Doyle. Additional studies includes stints at the Fechin Institute in New Mexico with Gregg Kruetz and David Leffel at the Arts Students League of New York.
